Kim - Founder and President
Kim graduated with a BS from Tufts University and graduated from Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006, and is currently a practicing veterinarian in central NJ at Belle Mead Animal Hospital. Her pets include Rah, Bowie's Semper Fidelis v DRU, TT a rescued male doberman, as well as Tyler, a senior rescued male doberman. She lost her beloved Bowie, Bowie's Modern Love, RN CGC SND - an 8 year old neutered male doberman pinscher she adopted in 2001, as well as Willow, her 9 year old female foster doberman, in 2006. Rah is currently training in competitive obedience. As well as the dogs, she has three lovely cats, Frankie, a spayed female DSH, Watson, a neutered male Birman, and BH, a neutered male DSH. She currently fosters many of our rats as well as works with the more difficult, older, and infirm rats in the rescue to offer them the loving care they need for the rest of their lives. Kim is also the prime provider of medical care for all of our rats and is working on being able to provide spays and neuters for all Ark rats local to her. She has a weakness for PEW rats, which is why many of her fosters end up being PEWs - she is just waiting for the world to get past their "plain" looks and see the lovely rat inside. Kim is a member of a variety of veterinary organizations including AVMA, AHVMA, ASLAP, AEMV as well as doberman organizations including the DPCA, UDC, and DRU.

Tracy -Co-Founder and Vice President, Ark Store Manager
Tracy graduated from Tufts University with a BS, where she met Kim and the two of them immersed themselves in the rodent world. Tracy recently completed her Post-Baccalaureate at Harvard University and is contemplating applying to veterinary school. Tracy's first two rats, OSEd Polly and Jair, have since passed, and unfortunately Tracy is currently rat-less due to her allergies and those of her family. She does however have a housefull of spoiled cockatiels, parakeets and finches that enjoy all of her attention! Tracy is the rat-whisperer and can get even the most terrified, frightened rat to warm up to her, and is welcomed at Kim's house each week by the rats and dogs alike as the giver of Apple Pie from McDonald's each week! Hopefully soon Tracy will once again be owned by rats, but until then she continues to do all she can for the homeless rats out there. Tracy is the heart and soul of the Ark Store and the Ark would not be possible without the countless hours she devotes to all aspects of the Ark each week.
